The BEAM Exchange is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Communications Manager based in London, UK.
The BEAM Exchange aims to support development practitioners that work with business to fight poverty, transforming markets so they work better for poor people.
Key Job Responsibilities
The Communication Manager will perform the following functions-
- Understand the audience of the BEAM Exchange and direct the team’s activities to maximise engagement.
- Oversee planning, production and dissemination of all BEAM outputs including the website, digital publications, promotional communications and campaigns around conferences and events.
- Direct and manage three other part-time communications staff.
- Refresh the communications strategy to create and curate content for a range of different audiences, and develop appropriate materials and products.
- Work with technical leads to compile and edit BEAM products and write original content when required. The role will involve directly producing new content, and guiding / supporting others to do the same.
- Devise protocols, manage the BEAM brand and ensure consistency in communications messages and materials to BEAM target audiences and clients.
- Work closely with the technical leads, operations manager, website manager and suppliers (designers, website developers, external authors) to maintain the high standard of programme communications.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- University degree in a relevant field
- Solid editorial and writing skills, with a demonstrated ability to write and edit efficiently and turn around content quickly.
- Proven ability to think strategically and translate complex ideas into clear and accessible written outputs.
- Experience working on a knowledge-sharing and/or online information platform, especially in managing and engaging an online community.
- Experience packaging and disseminating information for a variety of audiences.
- Knowledge and understanding of economics and markets, or strong willingness to learn. Specific knowledge of international development, sustainability or market systems even better.
- Experience in knowledge management would be useful.
