The Meningitis Research Foundation (MRF) is currently accepting applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) based in Bristol, UK.
The CEO will lead the MRF’s fulfillment of its purpose by developing plans for MRF’s work and to manage the achievement of these plans.

Key Job Responsibilities
The CEO will perform the following functions-
- In conjunction with the trustees and senior management team, to develop MRF’s vision, policies, and strategic and operating plans for approval by the trustees;
- Manage the implementation of the agreed strategic and operating plans, under the aegis of MRF’s policies and procedures as laid down by the board of trustees;
- Lead, motivate, and develop the management team, staff, and volunteers throughout the organisation in order to maximise MRF’s effectiveness and efficiency via excellent standards of individual and collective performance;
- Manage MRF’s operations including budgets, financial reporting, and all aspects of administration;
- Ensure effective communications with the public at large and with appropriate institutions, both public and private – eg the media, expert advisors, ministries of health and related government and educational bodies, major funders, patrons of the charity, and various appropriate umbrella bodies (eg AMRC, FRSB, CoMo, GAVICSO, BOND) – so as to maximise financial, public, and other support for MRF’s mission;
- Ensure effective representation of MRF in appropriate bodies as desirable;
- Be responsible for MRF’s required compliance with all financial, legal, and regulatory requirements, including health & safety, equality, etc.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Education to degree level or equivalent
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent presentation skills
- High level of IT competency
- Driving license
- Good understanding of healthcare organisation and policy in UK and resource-poor settings
- At least three years in a relevant senior management role
- Experience of working abroad, or managing international projects from the UK
- Experience of planning and running successful projects or campaigns
- Proven ability to manage budgets
