Key Job Responsibilities
The Senior Program Manager performs the following functions-
- Work collaboratively with the Deputy Director and other MSCP staff to coordinate development of annual MCSP core workplans including activity design and descriptions, knowledge management plans and measurement, monitoring, evaluation and learning plans and budgets
- Support the development of, and prepare parts of, annual reports and other ad-hoc requests for information
- Support MCSP finance team and Jhpiego Country Support Manager with financial and administrative management of MCSP workplan
- In collaboration with MCSP Executive Management Team (EMT) and technical staff, provide leadership in setting MCSP priorities
- Assist the Director, Deputy Director and Jhpiego Country Support Manager to improve organizational processes and strategies that impact program implementation
- Work collaboratively with MCSP staff to ensure that resources for effective and timely program implementation are available
- Promote and support information management and sharing efforts, including designing and uploading documents onto MCSP SharePoint site
- Ensure compliance with Jhpiego and JHU operational policies and regulations
- Provide leadership and mentoring to MCSP Program Officers and Program Coordinators
- Supervise administrative coordinators and serve as focal point for office management functions in collaboration with Jhpiego Baltimore Facilities Management
- Develop and maintain excellent relationships with internal and external colleagues and among partners
- Represent MCSP with USAID, as appropriate
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Advanced degree in public health or related field
- 7 international health program development and program management experience required; 10 years experience preferred
- Experience working and living in developing country
- Strong programming, management and technical skills
- Ability to interact with established networks of senior level international health professionals, donors, universities and other partners
- Ability to work in a complex environment with multiple tasks, short deadlines and intense pressure to perform
- Knowledge of USAID donor agency rules and regulations
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
- Excellent skills in facilitation, team building and coordination
- Ability to understand complex budgets and serve as a link between program and finance staff
- Appreciation for socio-cultural differences in countries, preferably having lived and worked in one or more low resource settings
- Aware of and sensitive to working in multiple socio-economic settings and with multi-cultural groups in a developing country environment
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time to developing countries
