The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Project Associate under United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) based in San Salvador, El Salvador.
The UNODC provides technical assistance to Member States to strengthen their capabilities in the fight against organized crime and drug trafficking.
Key Job Responsibilities
The Project Associate will perform the following functions-
- Support the implementation of technical assistance activities; (Sending invitations, budgeting, hotel reservations, lounges, attendance lists of participants, etc.)
- Feed and update databases (project contacts, donors, etc.);
- Maintain both physical and electronic files of the activities in the project to date;
- Research, collect and analyze information on corruption issues in El Salvador
- Assist in the preparation of financial and narrative reports related to project management for both donors and UNODC headquarters;
- Maintain the information related to the costs incurred by the project.
- Responsible for the generation of payments in respect of the implementation of the project, running from Panama.
- Participate in inter-agency and any other meetings, as assigned;
- Any other function assigned by the / Project Coordinator and / or UNODC Regional Representative for Central America and the Caribbean in Panama related to project management.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Level academic degree in the fields of sociology, law, political science, international relations or desirable Career Allied title. Complete high school.
- Six years of experience in administrative support preferably related to the implementation of development projects.
- Desirable experience in issues related to strengthening the sectors of security, justice and governance.
- Basic knowledge in areas of the mandate of UNODC.
- Previous experience in organizing training workshops and public events.
- Excellent command of Spanish, oral and written language.
- Basic level of English, writing, reading and conversation
