The DM Thomas Foundation for Young people has announced its central grants programme for charities supporting young people in foundation’s focus areas.
The Foundation has a rigorous grant process which aims to identify the most effective projects helping disadvantaged young people in the UK and Ireland.
Focus Areas
- Children and young people with disabilities
- Children and young people who are sick in hospital
- Children and young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness
- Children and young people who are life limited (requiring palliative care).
Grants Information
- There is approximately £150,000 available to distribute each quarter.
- The Foundation is a small charity and generally will not make awards of over £30,000 (per year).
- Funding can be requested for up to 2 years for any particular project.
Eligibility Criteria
- Central grants can only be awarded to charities registered in England and Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
- The charity must be registered for a period of at least 12 months before the Foundation can consider awarding funding
- Grants are only awarded to charities working with young people (meaning babies, children and young people under 25 years old) that are considered to be most in need.
- The charities should be supporting children in the focus areas mentioned above.
Application Procedure
Interested applicants must complete a Central Grants Application Form which is available to download at the address given on the website.
