African Leadership Network is currently accepting nominations for the 2015 Africa Awards for Entrepreneurship. The award program identifies 13 of the leading entrepreneurs in Africa each year who demonstrate innovation, profitability and business excellence.
ALN creates and strengthens relationship between these leaders to encourage intra-African trade, investment and collaboration.
Program Objectives
- To create platform to spotlight and celebrate business excellence in Africa
- To build a strong network of African entrepreneurs as role models and a source of best practice
- To promote entrepreneurship as a driving force for Africa’s prosperity
- Encourage aspiring entrepreneurs to embrace the challenges and rewards of entrepreneurship
- To attract venture capital inflows towards good business across the continent
Award categories
Applicants can apply for one of the categories-
- Lifetime Achievement Award (Awarded to a senior African business leader who has served as a entrepreneurial icon for several decades)
- Transformation Business Award (Awarded to a notable business leader who has created significant socio-economic impact in Africa by building business with revenues greater than USD 50 million)
- Outstanding Mature Business Award (USD 100,000 prize to a business leader who has built a company with revenues between USD 5 million to 50 million)
- Outstanding Growing Business Award ( USD 50,000 prize to a young remarkable African business with revenue USD 50,000 and 5 million)
- Outstanding Social Entrepreneurs Award (USD 50,000 prize to organisation with outstanding innovation)
Eligibility Criteria
- Entrepreneurs, public sector leaders, nonprofit leaders from Africa can apply or nominated under above mentioned categories.
- To be eligible for outstanding social entrepreneur award, the organisation must be structured as a non profit or for profit and must have founded or be currently run by an African citizen. It must also demonstrate annual revenues of between USD 150,000 and USD 2.5 million in last financial year.
