The Islamic Development Bank (ISDB) is currently inviting applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Capacity Development Associate based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
The Capacity Development Associate provides technical and administrative assistance to the Department Management in various areas such as project documents preparation, communications, and budget and operations plan management.

Key Job Responsibilities
The Capacity Development Associate will perform the following functions-
- Assist in developing and maintaining guidelines, policies and procedures for the department.
- Provide specialized inputs into the documents prepared by the Director.
- Assist in collecting information, researching best practices, reviewing the literature of peer institutions and documenting recent trends in the area of Capacity Development.
- Conduct data analysis as and when required by the Department’s Management.
- Assist in the preparation of technical documents such as TAs and RRPs.
- Monitor the compliance of documents produced with the recommended formats and templates as well as the Bank’s guidelines.
- Coordinate the preparation of the administrative and operational budgets at the level of the Department.
- Monitor and keep the records of the administrative and operational budgets at the level of the Department to ensure that these are within the approved budget allocations.
- Assist the Director in the formulation of the department work plans, follow up on the implementation with divisions and staff and report on progress made against KPI targets.
- Monitor deadlines and ensure documents and information are processed in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with print houses the design and printing of CAP publications.
- Ensure that information and documentation pertaining to CAP published on IDB portal is up-to-date.
- Prepare and disseminate knowledge products when requested.
- Suggest innovative ideas to improve efficiency of work.
- Provide day-to-day substantive administrative assistance to the Department’s management.
- Provide logistical support for the successful organisation of the Department’s events such as IDB Advisory Panel meetings, seminars and workshops organized at the IDB HQs.
- Take notes at department meetings, prepare and submit minutes of such meetings.
- Draft memoranda and other messages under the signature of the Director to Management, directors of other departments and to external stakeholders.
- Act as a focal point for the provision of goods and services required.
- Perform the role of the Purchaser for SAP materiel management module.
- Provide timely and efficient response to queries from different stakeholders inside and outside the Bank.
- Prepare regular reports on the work progress, utilization of the budgets, etc., particularly the high priority issues.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must have-
- Academics and relevant experience in Business Administration / Economics / Any relevant discipline;
- 5 years of work experience.
- Other skills–
- Project management (south-south cooperation);
- Event organization skills;
- Marketing and communication skills;
- Computer skills with expertise in MS Office;
- Fluency in English Language and Arabic Language is essential;
- Fluency in French will be an advantage;
- Proficient computer skills;
- Strong interpersonal skills.
