The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is currently inviting applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Management Information System (MIS) Associate, based in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Key Job Responsibilities
The Management Information System Associate will perform the following functions-
- Design of normalized relational databases, using MS Access and Visual Basic 6 (or later versions) or MS SQL Server and Visual Studio or other open source software to collect, manage and analyze information from the project and relevant sources.
- Design of database system to accommodate data entry /collection using manual printed forms, mobile phone/internet base and Excel spreadsheet.
- Provision of high quality analysis and draft presentation of information/data on specific project and related topics to support information base decision making.
- Perform of systems analysis for design of query, form and report production from the database to meet the needs of donors, UNDP and government partners.
- Timely review, revision and improvement of the existing ecosystem and biodiversity databases as well as suggest appropriate software for high quality information management, effective and efficient decision making to meet donors, UNDP and government partners needs.
- Effective implementation of project monitoring and timely production of results oriented draft progress reports according to project monitoring and reporting schedule.
- Identification, assessment and management of ICT operational risks proposing mitigation activities and submitting ICT risk information;
- Participation in the discussion on defining of the overall programme of work, ensuring its consistency with the overall project strategic framework;
- Effective contribution to service improvement programs and initiatives to ensure the project is well placed to challenge existing business needs and introduction to change in creating improvement opportunities.
- Establishment and monitoring of updated internal databases relevant to the scope of project activities.
- Preparation of design of periodic and ad hoc reports, statistical tables, graphic content, and other background materials/notes to facilitate audit and other reviews.
- Finalization and publication of report in multiple languages as a tool to communicate results, deepen stakeholder knowledge and buy-in to the project, and resource mobilization for the project,
- In coordination with UNDP’s Communication unit and project team/consultants, develop drafts project summaries and support information for knowledge exchange.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- At least Bachelor degree in IT, Business Analyst, Computer Science or other relevant fields of study would be desirable, but it is not a requirement.
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience, preferably in the field of Information Technology and/or database management.
- Very good communication skills both written and spoken in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
- Experience in the design and creation of Microsoft Access relational databases, including the use of Visual Basic programming language or other open source software.
- Advance in using MS Excel, SQL Server, other SQL and/or Visual Studio products.
- Familiarity with spatial analysis software such as ArcMap and Map Window would be an advantage.
- Knowledge and solid experience in project management.
- Good inter-personal and team building skills.
- Full time availability for project management support duties is essential.
- Experience in handling of web based management systems would be highly desirable.
