The World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Associate Program Support Officer, based in Geneva, Switzerland.
WIPO is the global forum for intellectual property services, policy, information and cooperation. We are a self-funding agency of the United Nations, with 188 member states.
Key Job Responsibilities
The Associate Program Support Officer will perform the following functions-
- Assist in the coordination and preparation of documentation for the Committee on Development and Intellectual Property (CDIP);
- Carry out research, draft reports, prepare documentation and compile information in support of the Division’s work;
- Make arrangements and organize logistics for the convening of the CDIP sessions;
- Maintain the Development Agenda web presence on the WIPO website;
- Assist in the work related to the implementation of the Coordination Mechanisms and Monitoring, Assessing and Reporting Modalities approved by Member States;
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- University degree, preferably in IP, law, economics or a related field.
- Relevant professional experience, preferably at the international level.
- Good drafting, editing and proofreading skills.
- Demonstrated skills in supporting policy making and research, preferably in the field of IP.
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment and good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Competent user of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint and the internet, and the ability to quickly learn new software.
- Organizational skills with the ability to work quickly under pressure and to respect deadlines, high degree of flexibility and adaptability.
- Knowledge of the available literature on IP and the interface between IP and development.
- Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English
