The Center for Reproductive Rights (the Center) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Program Associate, based in New York, USA.
The Program Associate who will be responsible for day to day administration and substantive support for the Judicial Strategy (JS) unit, with a focus on matters related to the Center’s SCOTUS campaign.
The Center is the premier global legal organization dedicated to advancing women’s reproductive health, self-determination, and dignity.
Key Job Responsibilities
The Program Associate will perform the following functions-
- Engaging in internet and other fact research, including research about professional organizations and other court influencers/amicus targets, amicus briefs and the Supreme Court.
- Engaging in basic legal research on Westlaw or other online databases.
- Overseeing, planning and coordinating master amicus calendar, and ensuring that JS staff and amicus brief authors are aware of deadlines.
- Creating Excel and Word documents for OOP or JS attorneys for internal or external use, including documents which clearly synthesize and summarize information.
- Creating PowerPoint slides and other presentation materials for JS staff.
- Developing and maintaining files and shared document sites for Judicial Strategy work.
- Coordinating and facilitating meetings and events (including outreach and events for or with other organizations).
- Assisting with intra- and inter-departmental coordination for Center’s Judicial Strategy work.
- Maintaining assigned staff’s schedules and coordinating their travel.
- Drafting internal communications and reports about the Center’s Judicial Strategy efforts.
- Preparing correspondence and other documents.
- Providing other administrative support to JS staff.
- Handling information requests and other related duties and assignments as required.
- Executing other tasks upon request.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Strong writing, proofreading, and editing skills.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong internet research capability.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively, to multi-task, and to work under pressure.
- Office experience required; legal office experience a strong plus.
- Strong commitment to the Center’s mission, purpose, and values.
- Work or volunteer experience related to reproductive rights and/or women’s human rights issues is a strong plus.
