The World Bank is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Valuation Analyst based in Singapore city, Singapore.
The World Bank has set two ambitious goals to push extreme poverty to no more 3 percent by 2030, and to promote shared prosperity and greater equity in the developing world.
Key Job Responsibilities
The Valuation Analyst performs the following functions-
- Assists in validating and verifying models used to value structured/exotic bonds and derivatives, covering fixed income, foreign-exchange, commodity and equity.
- Assisting in validating and verifying models and market data used for curve construction and in fair value reporting
- Performing independent fair value review of debt, loan and derivatives for statutory and management reporting;
- Performing PnL attribution for fair value accounting targeted at market factors such as interest rates, volatilities and FX
- Carries out periodic sensitivity analysis to market inputs to facilitate fair value reporting and disclosure.
- Assist in enhancing the World Bank’s valuation models based on evolving market practices
- Assists in developing models and model enhancements for sovereign loans, credits and guarantees.
- Client support and developing independent price verification tools for financial instruments including structures
- Supporting various projects and ad-hoc analysis and reporting
- Preparing periodic updates on the robustness of the valuation models
- Assisting in carrying out periodic model and curve construction reviews for statutory reporting with extended focus on high risk models.
- Calculating and analyzing the spread between assets and funding for consistency with pricing to enable margin analysis for financial reporting;
- Keeping apprised of developments in fair valuation, accounting and regulatory policy to ensure compliance with accounting standards and best practices.
- Working closely with external audit’s valuation group as well as finance partners to facilitate valuation, fair value policy, implementation and reporting.
- Developing and maintaining industry contacts to remain abreast of best practices.
- May coach and mentor junior staff.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- An advanced/professional degree or equivalent training in mathematics, finance, engineering or equivalent.
- Applicants should have 3 or more years of finance experience of which at least 1 year must be direct relevant market experience in a major financial institution in Structuring / Trading / Valuation / Risk management of interest rate and/or foreign exchange derivatives.
- In‐depth understanding and ability to enhance currently implemented models and assist in making smart decisions to overcome internal valuation platform constraints is required.
- Past experience with Summit/NumeriX and/or programming skills with C/C++/Unix is preferred
