The World Bank is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Senior Financial Officer based in Washington, USA.

Key Job Responsibilities
The Senior Financial Officer performs the following functions-
- Playing a lead role in designing, developing and monitoring the internal controls over the unit’s financial transactions and business operations.
- Establishing controls and review procedures in processing of pension related payments and accounting.
- Leading the team to actively contribute to the team’s work program and participate in the enhancement of the New Pension System.
- Coaching and mentoring staff members in the team and empower them to anchor key business processes.
- Providing a variety of metrics / charts to be included in overall departmental operations report to measure progress of operations.
- Supervising and guiding staff in calculating and processing all benefit payments.
- Resolving issues, and providing information relating to the Staff Retirement Plan through in-person contacts, electronic mail, the telephone, and correspondences with active staff, retirees and other beneficiaries.
- Reviewing and drafting communications materials to participants on Pension Plan provisions;
- Serving as project manager on projects of moderate size and complexity.
- Preparing and presenting briefings to groups of staff on Pension Plan provisions, both in HQ and in other World Bank Group offices.
- Responding to audit and ad hoc information requests from internal and external parties.
- Undertaking ad hoc projects and special assignments as required.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Master’s degree with 8 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or relevant field. A professional qualification in accountancy or benefits administration (CPA, CA, CIA, CFA, PHR, SPHR) is desirable.
- Hands-on experience with administration of a global pension plan and familiarity with defined benefit plans is desirable.
- Ability to deliver technical and team leadership and to exercise sound judgment in a large and complex multinational setting.
- Experience in managing and implementing change in a fast-moving industry that requires the team to improve continuously.
- Experience in delivering high quality client services within a client-focused environment.
- Excellent presentation skills, including the capacity to communicate and discuss complex matters in simple terms both verbally and in writing.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and mature judgment with the ability to deal tactfully and effectively with internal/external contacts at all levels in a multicultural environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, including writing business reports and the ability to make presentations on pension-related topics to an audience of international staff.
- Experience with PeopleSoft modules is desirable.
- Experience with SAP FI (financial module) is desirable.
