The United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Bureau for Food Security, Office of Country Strategy Implementation, is seeking applications for a Cooperative Agreement for the implementation of the Feed the Future Developing Local Extension Capacity.
The purpose of this funding opportunity is to support a program that largely and measurably contributes to USAID’s Bureau for Food Security, Office of Country Strategy and Implementation and Feed the Future’s immediate aim to sustainably improve extension and advisory services (EAS) in Feed the Future focus and aligned countries.
Goals
USAID’s overall goal is to sustainability reduce global hunger and poverty through enhanced local capacity for rural innovation. This is directly supportive of Feed the Future’s two impact paths of:
- Addressing the root causes of hunger that limit the potential of millions of people
- Establishing a lasting foundation for change by aligning USAID resources with country-owned processes and sustained, multi stakeholder partnerships.
Award Information
- The estimated life-of-project budget for the new Developing Local Extension Capacity Project is up to $35 million for five years for: February 15, 2016 to February 14, 2021.
- It is estimated that approximately $2 million will be obligated to the Leader Award each year, with $1 million of that reflecting field support buy-ins.
Eligibility Criteria
U.S. and non-US organizations, universities and firms are eligible to apply.
