Save the Children is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Area Manager in Zahle, Lebanon. The duration for the post is of 12 months.
The Area Manager will lead the Bekaa Area Office which is working on Shelter, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, Food Security and Livelihoods, Education and Child Protection across the Bekaa Area.

Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Area Manager will perform the following functions-
- Ensure that comprehensive needs assessments are conducted alongside with the implementation of programs with a focus on children.
- Implement of a comprehensive program that takes into consideration development needs of all children in Lebanon and the specific needs of children and communities in large affected by the Syrian crisis in the context of intervention.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- At least 5 years/substantial experience working with a humanitarian/ development organization, including significant experience working at field level.
- University degree in related academic discipline or equivalent work experience.
- Skills and experience in project/programme implementation, monitoring, review and evaluation preferably from a child rights approach in accordance with the Child Rights Convention and international humanitarian rights standards.
- Substantial people and programme management experience with good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate at all levels (experience in managing large teams, minimum 100 staff).
- Solid experience in grant management (at least 5 years experience), including budget holding (minimum 10 million USD portfolios) and donor reporting.
- Substantial understanding or proven experience of security management issues.
- Ability to produce high quality reports in English.
- Representational, political awareness and advocacy skills.
- Ability to work with limited supervision from line manager.
- Experience of working with partners and a participatory approach.
- Fluency in written and spoken English and computer literate.
- Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s aims, values and principles.
- Experience and/or an interest in working in Middle East region.
- Ability to communicate in Arabic.
