The Indian Ministry of New and Renewable Energy is currently accepting nominations for its new scheme of “New and Renewable Energy Young Scientist Awards”. The objective of the scheme is to encourage young scientists to make outstanding achievements in research and development for technology development in new and renewable energy. The contributions should be in form of outstanding research publications in the field followed by patents development and also for their efforts of translating their innovation into prototype development for commercialization.
Research Areas
The awards will be given annually, one on each area of the new and renewable energy, as follows:
Solar thermal, solar photovoltaic, Wind energy, Biogas, Biofuels, biomass gasification, RE-Hybrid technology, Hydrogen, Fuel Cells, and Geothermal, etc.
Award
The award will consist of a citation, a cash prize of Rs.5,00,000 (Rs. Five Lakh) and a plaque.
Eligibility Criteria
- The awards will be provided to any Scientists working in any R&D and academic institutions/industry, scientific departments, who have done innovation in the field of new and renewable energy, and who are not more than 40 years of age as on the independence day of the year of application.
- The evidence of the contributions towards renewable energy can be in the form of publications, patents or products. Such a scientist must have published at least ten research papers in his area of work in International Journals with high impact factor supported by number of citations.
- Applications from Nobel Laureates and other scientists in the field of science will also strengthen the candidature.
- The work should have been done in India.
- The candidate should be Indian nationals.
How to Apply
- The prescribed proforma (Original + one copy) should be neatly typewritten giving complete information about the nominee should be sent via post.
- Please strictly follow prescribed format for filling up nomination proforma.
- A CD/DVD/USB flash drive is also required containing digital photograph (in JPEG format), duly filled proforma and significant publications (in PDF format) of the nominee.
- Enclose attested copy of certificate of age.
