Open Society Foundations (OSF) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Information Specialist in New York, US.
The Information Specialist will support the president in the collection of quantitative and qualitative data regarding the work of the programs.

Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Information Specialist will perform the following functions-
- Identify trends, patterns, and relationships in data that help inform portfolio reviews, oversight of delegated authority, implementation of strategies, and the effectiveness of OSF policies.
- Manage multiple, overlapping assignments, some routine and some ad hoc, occasionally on tight deadlines.
- Draw and analyze data from multiple OSF data systems as well as from original data collection.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all OSF data to which the information specialist has access unless particular reports or analyses are authorized for release by the administrative director, general counsel, or president.
- Participate in the assessment and improvement of OSF data security and the development and improvement of existing and new data systems. The role includes occasional project management.
- Frequent collaboration with colleagues in the Office of the President, the IT department, Grants Management, Grant Making Support Unit, Strategy Unit, Human Resources Department, Communications Department, and Budget Division, as well as with the various thematic and geographic programs, including playing a substantial role aligning the work of information specialists across the network hub offices.
- Administrative director in the Office of the President and takes direction from both the president and the administrative director, including participation in the general work of the Office of the President as required.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Bachelor’s degree
- Strong quantitative and qualitative research skills including data collection, organization, and management.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze, describe, and present data from multiple sources with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong creative skills, both in devising analytic strategies and in presenting data analyses.
- Strong problem-solving skills, working alone and as a team member.
- Strong collaborative skills, including ability to contribute to the growth and effectiveness of a team, and respectful colleagueship on a team.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, basic graphic design and data visualization, and ability to integrate numeric, graphic, and narrative material in memos, reports, and presentations.
- Strong skills with all Microsoft Office software and software supporting data analysis and presentation.
- Strong cross-cultural competence and interpersonal skills.
- Strong skills in critical thinking and self-reflection.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Fluency in one or more languages in addition to English.
- Familiarity with grants management software or Salesforce software products.
- SQL skills.
- Ability to travel internationally.
