Handicap International (HI) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Rehabilitation Technical Support in Gaza, Palestinian Territories. The duration for the post is of 12 months.
The Rehabilitation Technical Support is responsible to ensure that Handicap International technical policies, methods and approaches at the level of the project in their sectors of professional competencies are implemented with highest quality.
HI is an independent charity working in situations of poverty and exclusion, conflict and disaster.
Key Jobs Responsibility
The Rehabilitation Technical Support will perform the following functions-
- Provide the appropriate technical support to the organization and implementation of all project(s) activities.
- Take on an advisory function and assist the project manager / project coordinator in all technical aspects of the project implementation related to the areas of professional competencies.
- Participate in technical needs assessments of the project staff and partners.
- Design, produce and conduct training programmes within the project regarding rehabilitation or related issues.
- Design technical content of all training and communication materials.
- Promote and ensure the ongoing technical capacity building of staff and teams.
- Support to identify locally available external skills and expertise that could contribute to the quality of the project(s).
- Report on a regular basis to the Head of Mission.
- Support the Project Manager / Project Coordinator in the development of the monitoring system and its related qualitative and quantitative tools.
- Monitor the quality of the activities, through regular field visits and any other monitoring activities enclosed in the monitoring system.
- Participate in impact evaluations and studies in order to determine the effectiveness of HI response.
- Develop/consolidate HI Palestine mission and Middle East Regional Programme’s resources related to Rehabilitation.
- Participate in the production of the technical content of the project publication.
- Appropriate support to the HoM for any specific extra need, especially but not only on technical matters.
- Any additional specific tasks in technical field (or not) for the running, extension and consolidation of the Palestine mission.

Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must have-
- Advanced degree in physiotherapy Occupational Therapy or equivalent.
- Minimum 3years experience in disability field, emergency or/ and development field.
- Experience in Rehabilitation fields (including post-surgery rehabilitation would be a plus).
- Experience in technical representation and networking skills at different level (national, regional and local).
- Strong ability to work autonomously, combined with a high level of team approach and efficient reporting to the management.
- Proactive, solution maker, strongly positive, constructive and dynamic personality.
- Excellent communication skills essential to ensure cohesion with the other project staff and partners.
- Diplomatic skills essential.
- Capacity to work in volatile/ security contexts.

- Technical competencies and proven experience in area of technical expertise related to disability (preferably in rehabilitation).
- Capacity building, coaching and mentoring skills.
- Sound working knowledge on disability approaches (DCP, Rights-based, UCA).
- Good capacities in organization and coordination.
- Capacity to formalize tools and lessons learnt documents.
