World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Application Software Integrator in Geneva, Switzerland. The duration for the post is of 4 months.
The main role of Application Software Integrator is to manage the technical environment of the applications used to support the Registries, to analyze, propose and subsequently develop, or oversee external development of, the technical architecture designed to support those applications.

Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Application Software Integrator will perform the following functions-
- Ensure the development, test and production environments are correctly configured; produce integration test specifications, and conducts tests, recording details of any failures and carrying out fault diagnosis.
- Accept software modules from software developers, and produce software builds for loading onto the target environment.
- Develop installation procedures and standards, and schedule installation work.
- Provide technical support to national offices using the Madrid e-filing service.
- Take part in reviews of own work and lead reviews of colleagues’/external contractors’ work.
- Provide expert technical knowledge in the configuration of software, other system components and equipment for the systems testing of platform specific versions of software products.
- Take part in evaluations and reviews of application software programming methods, tools and standards.
- Keep informed of developing technologies and their application and take some responsibility for personal development.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- First-level university degree in information technology, computer science or a related field.
- Certification in Java, UNIX, Windows Server, System architecture, Prince2 and/or Web application design.
- At least six years relevant professional experience, including in systems engineering, server hardware technology, databases, operating systems, local area networks and IT applications and service processes, software testing techniques and tools or vendor management.
- Experience in ICT infrastructure support for and knowledge of IP registration systems.
- Experience of BPM and SOA technologies including experience with Oracle Suite products.
- Practical experience in XML technologies.
- Ability to select appropriately from applicable ICT standards, methods, tools and applications.
- Ability to apply an analytical and systematic approach to problem solving.
- Ability to plan, schedule and monitor work and meet time and quality targets.
- Ability to present complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to rapidly absorb new technical information and apply it effectively.
- Competent user of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), the internet, internet applications and tools used to validate XML and HTML.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to maintain effective partnerships and working relations in a multi-cultural environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity.
- Knowledge of all or some of the following: application development tools, systems analysis and design tools and methods, systems development environment, hardware/software installation, structured reviews/walkthroughs, configuration management, report writing, and software testing management techniques.
- Excellent written and spoken knowledge of English.
- Knowledge of French and/or other UN Language.
