Human Rights Watch (HRW) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Operations Associate/Communication and Media Relations Associates in Paris, France. The duration for the post is of 9 months.
The Operations Associate/Communication and Media Relations Associates to support its Operations and Communications Departments.

Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Operations Associate/Communication and Media Relations Associates will perform the following functions-
- Maintain the smooth and effective functioning of the office.
- Handle general office maintenance and facilities issues, stocking office and kitchen supplies.
- Liaise with the premises landlord and deal with suppliers and providers.
- Answer general post, email and telephone enquiries.
- Act as the local Finance representative and ensure compliance with Finance policies locally.
- Manage the bank accounts and cash flows.
- Record all monthly financial activity into the organization’s financial system.
- Process financial transactions, pensions, monthly bill payments, expense reimbursements.
- Handle issues in relation to HRW’s legal, branch and charitable status.
- Act as the local HR representative and deal with general HR queries.
- Assist with the recruitment, on-boarding and departure of local staff, fellows, consultants and interns.
- Administer local staff contracts, extension, terminations, exit checklists and translations.
- Administer and process, pensions, health benefits and insurance.
- Liaise and assist HR staff in headquarters with legal and HR audit issues locally.
- Liaise with the IT/helpdesk to troubleshoot computer problems and back up and update network files as necessary.
- Liaise with the IT or local phone service and internet provider to troubleshoot phone and internet problems.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in communication, business administration, nonprofit management, human resources, international relations or a related field is required.
- Minimum three years of operations or administrative experience in a demanding and fast paced environment, preferably in a multinational organization.
- Experience in nonprofit management, human resources, finance or IT is highly desirable.
- Excellent organizational, administrative, financial and analytical skills are required.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership and management skills are required.
- Ability to function under pressure, prioritize competing demands with minimal supervision and handle numerous tasks simultaneously.
- Demonstrated ability to work successfully with a team of talented professionals in multiple global locations.
- Proven track record of taking initiative and problem solving.
- Excellent written and spoken skills in English and French are required.
- Experience with finance, human resources or development databases is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to work well both independently as well as part of a team.
- Good judgment, discretion and the ability to maintain confidentiality is required.
