United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Human Resources Officer (Recruitment) in Budapest, Hungary.
UNICEF supports child health and nutrition, good water and sanitation, quality basic education for all boys and girls, and the protection of children from violence, exploitation, and AIDS.
Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Human Resources Officer will perform the following functions-
- Drafts vacancy announcements to attract suitable candidates to a post.
- Provides technical support in guiding clients through the recruitment process, ensuring compliance with the UNICEF staff selection policy.
- Undertakes the screening of applicants and identifies suitable candidates for the shortlist, whilst also participating in interview panels as needed.
- Ensures completion of recruitment process within the assigned key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Supports the HR Specialist by carrying out background research on lessons learned for knowledge development.
- Research and report on best and cutting edge practices on recruitment.
- Make recommendations to the HR specialist in improving certain processes.
- Drafts communication for outreach to institutions on promoting UNICEF as an employer.
- Support the HR Specialist and Chief HR in any preparation of presentations and workshops pertaining to UNICEF recruitment practices.

- Through research, supports the HR Specialist on providing advisory services to staff members within the GSSC on advanced career opportunities.
- Participates on workshops on competency based interviewing, writing applications and using e-recruitment.
- Develop and maintain the talent pool for future reference.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- A first-level university degree (Bachelor’s) in Human Resources, Business Administration, International Relations, Social Sciences, Psychology or a directly-related technical field(s) is a minimum requirement.
- A minimum of two (2) years of relevant professional work experience in Recruitment and Selection is required.
- Prior experience of recruitment and selection within an international organization is highly desirable.
- Previous hands on experience in a supervisory/managerial capacity are highly desirable.
- Prior work experience with an international organization is highly desirable.
- Prior hands on experience in field-office locations are highly desirable.
- Fluency in English (written & verbal) is required. Knowledge of an additional UN Language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of the local language of the duty station is required.
