Key Job Responsibilities
The Internal Auditor will perform the following functions-
- The Internal Auditor is responsible for planning, coordinating, conducting and reporting on operational, financial and management information system audits for the Foundation’s domestic and international operations.
- Reporting to the Chief Audit Executive, the Auditor determines the adequacy of and adherence to Foundation policies and procedures as well as applicable government regulations.
- Responsibilities include reviewing and evaluating internal accounting, financial, operational and administrative controls and recommending changes or additions to policies, procedures or controls as appropriate.
- Provide management with an independent appraisal through audit reports of Foundation operations and functions.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and/or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) with minimum of 5 years of experience in a public accounting firm or internal audit department of a major commercial company
- Ability to work easily and effectively with audit staff and all levels of Foundation staff
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of accounting theory and appropriate statements of accounting practice
- Knowledge of the techniques, tests, and sampling methods involved in conducting audits and the requirements set forth by the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing
- Ability to gather, analyze and evaluate facts including applying creative thinking and sound reasoning
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, including the ability to interview individuals
- Ability to gain confidence and respect of management and staff
- Ability to perform audits independently with minimal supervision
