United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Finance Associate in Copenhagen, Denmark. The duration for the post is of 1 year.
The Finance Associate will work under the guidance and supervision of the Finance Specialist-Treasury, and promote a client-oriented approach consistent with UNOPS rules and regulations.

Key Jobs Responsibility
The Finance Associate will perform the following functions-
- Full compliance with UNOPS rules and regulations of financial processes, financial records and reports and audit follow up; implementation of the effective internal control framework.
- Elaboration of the content of internal Standard Operating Procedures in Finance in consultation with the direct supervisor and office management.
- Frequent contact with the local bank to obtain day-to-day information on rates of exchange, interest rates, changes in procedures and bank regulations, etc.
- Application of accounts receivables.
- Pay cycle manager for HQ bank accounts.
- Reconciliation of HQ bank accounts. Review for discrepancies and action as required.
- Reconciliation of corporate credit card accounts.
- Assist in forecasting monthly cash requirements for all corporate bank accounts.
- Monitor bank service fees.
- Maintain daily contact with the bank to ensure that all payments made are disbursed from the bank and all pending issues are resolved on time.
- Review the monthly bank reconciliations of field bank accounts and prepare the voucher for the replenishment request received from field offices and ensure that fund is disbursed on time.
- Periodically review the unapplied funds received and inform relevant offices for necessary action.
- Maintain an overview of bank account levels, cash at bank and replenishments for the office.
- Respond to queries from field offices related to bank accounts and reconciliations.
- Obtain cash flow forecasts from the field offices, consolidate and furnish the accurate information to the supervisor.
- Closely observe the field office cash flow forecasts, the actual monthly requirements and present a variance analysis to the supervisor in order to guide the offices who are over or under forecasting.
- Maintain records both hard and soft for various transactions in the office and the field.
- Training of colleagues upon requests from portfolio managers, the supervisor and other finance officers in setting treasury matters, troubleshooting and understanding of the processes on day to day financial transactions, reporting and other related tasks.
- Sound contributions to knowledge networks and communities of practice.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Secondary education, required.
- University degree in relevant discipline, desirable.
- Professional Certification in finance or accounting, desirable.
- Minimum 6 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in banking or treasury is required in combination with secondary education; University degree may substitute for some of the required years of experience respectively.
- Knowledge of ERP software or accounting software required; experience with PeopleSoft Financials is an asset.
- Knowledge of UNOPS financial regulations and rules is considered an added asset.
- Understanding of accounting principles and standards, such as GAAP, IPSAS is an advantage.
- Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc) and Knowledge of spreadsheet and database packages, experience in handling of web based management systems.
- Fluency in English is essential.
- Knowledge of another UN language is an asset.
