World Health Organization (WHO) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Coordinator in Geneva, Switzerland. The duration for the post is of 2 years.
The Coordinator will lead WHO’s corporate resource mobilization efforts.
The primary role of WHO is to direct and coordinate international health within the United Nations’ system.
Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Coordinator will perform the following functions-
- Implementation of the WHO resource mobilization strategy.
- Coordination of the Global Resource Mobilization Coordination Team (GRMCT).
- Fostering and strengthening of relationships and dialogue with partners and contributors.
- Communication with partners and contributors on key messages related to financing of WHO.
- Analysis and communication of funding trends and intelligence.
- Promotion of organization-wide coherent resource mobilization efforts.
- Development and communication of WHO’s resource mobilization policy and related business rules.
- Ensure consistency in negotiation of contributor agreements across the Organization, including development of standard contributor agreements when necessary.
- Advising and supporting regional offices and clusters on resource mobilization and relations with contributors, including problem solving in reporting.
- Leadership of the project team for the organization of the biennial WHO financing dialogue.
- Ensure regular updates and development of the WHO programme budget web portal.
- Any other duties, as assigned.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Master’s degree from a recognized university in the field of development studies/management/international relations/public health/economics or other social or health sciences.
- At least 10 years of experience in fundraising/resource mobilization or related fields such as external relations/international relations/ communications/public relations, and experience in management and administration of which at least five years should be in fundraising.
- Considerable experience in writing and editing.
- At least five years of experience in the United Nations system
- Extensive knowledge in the fields of international development and resource mobilization.
- Knowledge of health development, related socioeconomic issues and assessment strategies.
- Effective oral and written communication.
- Effective working relations with multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.
- Personal attributes include integrity, tact and discretion.
- Excellent interpersonal and diplomatic skills in dealing with numerous contacts.
- Ability to guide, support and encourage colleagues to work towards common goals.
- Writing, editorial and oral presentation skills.
- Ability to plan and organize large-scale meetings.
- High level of judgment, responsibility and initiative.
- Ability to identify and act on opportunities in a complex and competitive resource mobilization environment.
- Ability to work effectively with fundraising systems and contributor organizations at all levels of complexity, and communicate credibly with departments inside WHO.
- Expert knowledge in English and French.
