International Organization for Migration (IOM) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Project Manager in Bangui, Central African Republic. The duration for the post is of 9 months.
The Project Manager will be responsible for the overall management and coordination of the Community Violence Reduction (CVR) project.

Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Project Manager will perform the following functions-
- Undertake overall project management of the CVR project, including liaison and coordination with various implementing partners and associates, donor reporting and financial control.
- Support monitoring and evaluation of ongoing activities, including supervision of and provision of support to CVR-relevant IOM sub-offices in CAR.
- Represent the CVR project towards donors, Government; Mission Intégré Nation Unies pour la Stabilization de la Centrafrique (MINUSCA) and other relevant stakeholders both on a national and international level.
- Provide overall guidance to all personnel involved in the project, including team managers, project officers and local staff to ensure that all goals are achieved and services are delivered.
- Collaborate closely with international humanitarian and development community, existing and potential donors and local government counterparts to ensure that goals of the CVR project are achieved, and ensure timely and adequate delivery to the beneficiary communities.
- Draft reports for submission to counterparts, ensuring adherence to project proposals, signed agreements and institutional reporting requirements of IOM and the donors.
- Draft and publish regular Public Information tools i.e. project newsletters, ad hoc reports, electronic media features and others as may be required, while ensuring constant communication with the target and surrounding communities.
- Provide regular updates to the Chief of Mission on the status of the CVR project; Identify areas for improvement and make relevant recommendations.
- Warrant strict implementation of “Do no Harm” principles throughout the project and initiate adjustments as required.
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Master’s degree in Law, Political Science, Human Rights, International Relations, Humanitarianism or a related field from an accredited academic institution with five years of relevant professional experience.
- University degree in the above fields with seven years of relevant professional
- Experience in programme coordination specifically in the humanitarian field relating to migration, returnees, refugee, IDP issues, showing increasing levels of responsibility.
- Experience in field-work in a challenging environment and community based reintegration processes.
- Experience in implementing projects in fragile and post-conflict political settings.
- Willingness to travel up to 60% of the time to very remote and isolated field locations and work in a diverse multi-cultural environment.
- Knowledge of the UN system.
- Experience in CAR and implementation of “Do no Harm” based projects is a distinct
- Fluency in English and French is required.
