United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Finance Officer in Beijing, China. The duration for the post is of 1 year.
The Finance Officer will be responsible for ensuring effective and transparent utilization of financial resources and integrity of financial services.
UNOPS mission is to serve people in need by expanding the ability of the United Nations, governments and other partners to manage projects, infrastructure and procurement in a sustainable and efficient manner.
Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Finance Officer will perform the following functions-
- Provide a variety of specialized finance, accounting, and functions related to Project Accounting, Budgeting and Financial Reporting.
- Ensures proper control of cash management and treasury functions.
- Coordinate with Project Director to ensure compliance with UNOPS Financial Rules and Regulations, the Finance Manual and Finance and Budget Technical Instructions in all financial transactions, recording, reporting, etc.
- Continuous analysis and monitoring of the financial situation.
- Analysis and elaboration of proposals on cost-saving and reduction strategies.
- Review of budget submissions, regular analysis and reporting on the budget approvals and the delivery situation.
- Ensure proper control of accounts and payments; follow up with partners on contributions, maintenance of the General Ledger.
- Proper control of the supporting documents for payments; preparation of all types of vouchers; Pay Cycle and payments execution.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- A first-level university in Finance or related subject.
- CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or similar desired.
- Minimum of 5 years of working experience is required with at least 3 years of experience in the area of Finance.
- Knowledge of UN/UNOPS/UNDP financial rules and regulations is highly desirable.
- Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Office 2003 and/or newer versions).
- Fluency in written and spoken English and Chinese.
