Miracle Corners of the World (MCW) is inviting young people from around the world for its 19th Annual International Youth Leadership Retreat from 27th July, 2016- 4th August, 2016. The week-long International Youth Leadership Retreat brings together youth, between the ages of 16 to 21, from around the world to prepare personal “vision plans,” highlighting their community’s challenges and identifying creative solutions to address them.
Miracle Corners of the World is a non-profit organization, based in New York, with partner organizations in Africa (Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Tanzania and Zambia) was founded in 1999 with the vision “Local Change through Global Exchange” and the mission: to empower youth to become positive agents of change in their communities
Since 1999, the program has been constantly growing and evolving to reach more young leaders and deepen its impact in communities around the world.
The MCW Young Leaders Program kicks off annually with an international Retreat that brings together youth, united by the goal of creating positive change in their communities. Young Leaders will create a unique action plan to address an issue in his/her community. Young Leaders implement their plans while being guided remotely through online workshops and a mentor from the Young Leaders alumni community. Program is broken into three phases:
- Modern Leadership
- Global Citizenship
- Local Change

- Community Development Initiatives
- Oral Healthcare
- Human Rights
- Pediatric AIDS Treatment for Africa (PATA) projects.
Eligibility Criteria
Young Leaders Must:
- Be between the ages of 16-25 years old.
- Be fluent in written and spoken English.
- Demonstrate commitment to his/her community.
- Identify an issue faced by his/her community he/she would like to address.
- Have access to email or another internet platform that allows consistent communication with the MCW team and mentor for the duration of the yearlong program.
- Commit to attending the weeklong retreat and spending the following year implementing change in his/her community.
- Be eligible for appropriate visa and travel documentation.
