World Education (WE) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Education Director in Tak, Thailand.
The Education Director will be responsible for technical, representational, administrative, and fiscal management of World Education’s sub-grant under PLE, and oversees the WE office in Mae Sot, Thailand.
World Education improves the quality of life through education for half a million children and adults in 22 countries.
Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Education Director will perform the following functions-
- Provide leadership, vision, and strategic oversight for WE’s programming under PLE.
- Work in partnership with IRC to ensure compliance with project requirements and USAID regulations.
- Supervise senior World Education PLE staff, and ensure implementation of human resources policies and systems.
- Communicate regularly and coordinate with headquarters in Boston regarding strategies for present and future programs, and staffing, finance, and legal issues.
- Work closely with the Finance Director to develop and monitor the budget and resources and ensure compliance with fiscal and administrative policies.
- Design appropriate tools and manage the collection of appropriate information to assess results and make management decisions.
- With senior project staff, develop and ensure implementation of project work plan, including defining activities and setting targets consistent with project objectives.
- Maintain and develop strong relationships with sub-grant partner organizations and support capacity development plans implemented through the project; determine resource allocations for partner organizations in line with strategic goals.
- Coordinate and network with external stakeholders, including government, local and international NGOs and CBOs, donors, other implementing agencies.
- Initiate and support program development that supports PLE’s objectives on behalf of displaced persons and humanitarian needs on the Thailand-Myanmar border.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Experience working in a developing country, preferably in Southeast Asia.
- A degree in education and/or relevant experience managing education programs.
- Strategic planning experience and skills.
- Ability and willingness to travel frequently.
- 5-7 years of experience in a senior program management position.
- Ability to work closely with a management team, with regular supportive communication.
- Cross-cultural communication and management skills.
