The World Bank Group (WBG) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Nutrition Specialist in New Delhi, India.
WBG has set two ambitious goals to push extreme poverty to no more 3 percent by 2030, and to promote shared prosperity and greater equity in the developing world.
Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Nutrition Specialist will perform the following functions-
- Planning and coordination: Provide and coordinate ongoing technical assistance to ISSNIP, including identifying opportunities for coherence, synergy, and added value to other nutrition specific and sensitive interventions in other HNP and multi-sector projects.
- Responsible for managing key work-streams of the MDTF and MDTF state teams in the eight priority states, and work in close collaboration with Task Team Leaders, Trust Fund Donors, and Project States.
- Technical: Be responsible for quality of deliverables, execution and timeline of execution, including coordinating and engaging in an active dialogue with technical experts (individuals/agencies) engaged for these activities under the MDTF.
- Contribute to ISSNIP project implementation plans to strengthen the design, timeliness, alignment and targeting of nutrition actions monitoring: Contribute to monitoring and reporting for the MDTF and the Bank’s nutrition investments and participate in joint supervision missions as required.
- Advocacy: Participate in national nutrition platforms, working groups, and technical committees as needed to ensure that the nutrition aspects of each project are strongly represented.
- Support communications to systematically leverage resources and capabilities in support of nutrition work in the country.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- At least Masters Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline (public health and/or nutrition, economics, social sciences or a related field) with minimum 7 years of post-Master’s relevant experience.
- A PhD would be an advantage.
- Demonstrated experience working with developing and implementing nutrition operations, and working with multi-sectoral teams on nutrition issues within the region.
- Demonstrated in depth knowledge and understanding of nutrition challenges in the country, good practices in the region and project management issues related to the implementation of nutrition and health projects in the country.
- Familiarity with analytical tools and ability to translate theoretical concepts into practical approaches for operational work; along with experience in designing and using results frameworks for monitoring nutrition interventions.
- Superior client orientation, interpersonal and diplomatic skills, ability to support dialogue with high level government officials.
- A track record of teamwork and ability to produce high-quality results and outputs under pressure with minimal supervision.
- Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills in English, working knowledge of Hindi would be an asset.
