The World Bank Group (WBG) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Resource Management Assistant in Chennai, India.
WBG has set two ambitious goals to push extreme poverty to no more 3 percent by 2030, and to promote shared prosperity and greater equity in the developing world.
Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Resource Management Assistant will perform the following functions-
- Responsible for significant portions of planning, design, and implementation of strategies to promote effective communications with external and internal audiences on Bank-financed operations, research products, and campaigns.
- Prepared to employ the full array of modern communications tools, including social media, to reach key audiences.
- Risk management: On high-risk operations in the country, must monitor perceptions, track shifts in opinion, and respond to inquiries, while publishing and updating key facts about project goals and milestones.
- Interact with operations staff and project teams, organizing meetings with media and civil society as appropriate.
- Take the pulse of the country and advise country teams, with analyses on the political economy, especially during election years, and regular monitoring of the media.
- Events: Coordinates communications activities and events ranging from press conferences to large seminars and town hall meetings, involving external and/or internal audiences.
- Prepared to represent the Bank, and Bamako office, before external and internal audiences, explaining WBG policies and operational goals.
- Resource management: Employs appropriate methodologies for handling simple and complex procurement tasks and/or issues. Manages specific line items of unit budget.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Relevant Bachelor’s Degree (e.g., Finance, Accounting, and Business).
- At least 3 years of relevant experience.
- Strong skills in, and thorough familiarity with, Microsoft Excel/PowerPoint, including the ability to use interlinked spreadsheets, and financial models.
- Work experience in using integrated, automated financial or other ERP systems with a comparable level of complexity to SAP R/3.
- Sound knowledge of basic accounting and finance, with particular emphasis on cost and management accounting.
- Good knowledge of mathematics and strong skills in using and manipulating large sets of numerical data.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to prepare, present, and discuss findings in written and oral form.
- Basic knowledge of Bank’s operations accounting processes and systems is desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to learn new technology quickly and effectively for maximum productivity.
- Track record of working collaboratively with others.
- Ability to work independently, do research and find answers efficiently and ability to identify more complex tasks, which require support.
- Prior experience with helpdesks, experience in preparing technical documentation will be an advantage.
- Ability to automate simple work flows to efficiently track the input, process and output statuses.
