The USAID-funded Uganda Rights & Rule of Law Activity seeks proposals from the human rights activists in Uganda for its Rapid Response Fund for Human Rights and Rule of Law program. The aim of the program is to support the advancement and protection of socio-economic development through support to national- level structures that uphold respect for human rights and rule of law.
The activity seeks proposals for critical interventions that respond to emergent needs requiring rapid response. Interventions that this fund will support will comprise emergency, tangible and short-term support including legal support to human rights activists, monitoring of human rights violations or developing threats, advocacy opportunities that are related to the role of media or civil society during elections, post-elections or any other opportunities that might arise which can contribute to entrenching the observance of fundamental rights and freedoms in Uganda.
