Development Alternatives Incorporated (DAI) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Director of Finance in Afghanistan.
The Director of Finance will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, including financial systems implementation, budgeting, expenditure tracking, and financial reporting and accounting for both DAI and any sub-Contractors or grantees.

Key Job Responsibilities
The Director of Finance will perform the following functions-
- Provide management, supervision, and training to team of financial professionals.
- Travel to provincial offices train staff and ensure compliance with USAID and DAI finance procedures.
- Develop financial reporting systems and ensure the physical safety of the project financial records.
- Develop all USAID and DAI required financial reports.
- Prepare financial tracking tools, and other customized financial reports as needed.
- Develop grant and subcontracts tracking tools.
- Oversee all local payments and administer local payroll.
- Ensure compliance with all GIRoA regulations.
- Identify and mitigate program risks.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Masters degree or higher in accounting, finance, or a practicing Certified Professional Accountant.
- At least 5 years of financial experience managing the accounting and finance component for large donor-funded programs, particularly in transitional, Islamic, or post-conflict countries.
- At least 5 years of supervisory experience, setting up the accounting and finance function for a large funded project.
- Experience supervising a diverse team of professional accountants and financial management staff.
- Demonstrated high regard for an ethical management approach.
- Strong communications skills with fluency in English language required and Pashto or Dari preferred.
