United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Programme Management Officer in Paris, France.

Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Programme Management Officer will perform the following functions-
- Support the DTIE Division Director and Deputy Director in the strategic/thematic coordination of DTIE:
- Coordinate liaison with DTIE out posted Branches, Units and Paris-based Administration (PMAU).
- Monitor, identify emerging policy and managerial issues requiring attention; advising on the required course of action; drafting analytical papers and documents.
- Represent DTIE in key meetings, consultations, conferences and events.
- Coordinate substantive preparations in view of senior management’s intervention.
- Support the implementation and monitor the completion of the Division activities.
- Organize DTIE Leadership Management Team meetings, DTIE Coordination meetings and DTIE Heads of Branch meetings.
- Brief and prepare documentation for the Director in view of UNEP Senior Management Team (SMT) meetings, and regular meetings with UNEP Executive Director (ED) and Deputy Executive Director (DED).
- Support the Division Director and Deputy Director in their administrative functions:
- Coordinate Director’s and Deputy Director’s missions and schedule in coordination with the Director’s Special Assistant.
- Monitor the completion of Division’s key administrative and human resources processes and acting as Secretariat for senior DTIE recruitments.
- Monitor the timely completion of key actions required vis-à-vis the performance management system by DTIE managers and DTIE staff.
- Keep Directors abreast of emerging administrative issues and suggesting appropriate course of action.
- Organize regular meetings with Administration and advise on agenda items.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in international relations or public administration, business administration, environmental science or a related field is required.
- A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
- A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in project or programme management in intergovernmental organizations in the context and/or related field is required.
- Fluency in written and oral English and French are required. English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat.
- Working knowledge of other UN official languages is desirable.
