United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Associate Property Management Officer in Bangkok, Thailand.
ESCAP is the regional development arm of the United Nations for the Asia-Pacific region.
Key Job Responsibilities
The Associate Property Management Officer performs the following functions-
- Participates in planning and coordinates all aspects of assets management, including property plant; equipment recording and reporting; inventory management; assets data entry, verification and reporting; customer liaison; administration of IPSAS standards compliancy in relation to assets reporting to ensure effective and efficient recording of the Organization’s assets.
- Participates in planning and coordinates assets management storage, systems and equipment throughout the building to facilitate the work programme of the Organization.
- Collaborates and reports on office space usage, in accordance with the technical requirements of IPSAS.
- Prepares scopes of work and technical specifications for assets related services and common services.
- Prepares technical evaluations of local outsourced services and supplies provision; supervises, coordinates and monitors the implementation and progress of contracts to ensure compliance with specifications; determines justification for technical changes to contracts and prepares progress reports.
- Develops and maintains automated reporting systems, web portals and space documents distribution systems required for the management of assets and space; facilitates the reporting of usage of space for the Organization and its tenants.
- Assists in identifying common issues and best practices in making strategic recommendations and developing plans to achieve objectives to increase efficiency in assets management.
- Prepares status reports, briefing papers, updates and ad-hoc. reports on status of various stages of the implementation of the assets and space management programme; as required; communicates findings, recommendations, analysis and concepts to ESCAP management, as appropriate.
- Assists in the implementation of work plan of the Sub-Unit and in the management of resources; participates in the preparation of biennial budget and spending plan of the Unit.
- Supervises General Service staff and outsourced contractors of the Sub-Unit.
- Performs other related duties, as required.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in assets/facilities management, engineering, logistics, or related fields, is required.
- A first-level university degree in the aforementioned fields in combination with additional two years of experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
- A minimum of two years of experience in assets management, facilities management, procurement, or related areas.
- Fluency in English and Thai is required. English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat.
- Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage.
