Gavi is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting in Washington DC, United States.
The Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting will provide support to the Financial Reporting Team.
Gavi’s mission is to save children’s lives and protecting people’s health by increasing equitable use of vaccines in lower-income countries.
Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting will perform the following functions-
- Prepare sections of the Annual Financial Report, including coordinating the timely receipt of required input information from the various Gavi teams.
- Prepare Gavi Group consolidation schedules.
- Prepare half-yearly abridged financial statement for review by the Audit and Finance Committee.
- Review new US GAAP accounting guidance, update accounting policies, and implement any necessary financial reporting updates.
- Prepare audit schedules and compile audit supporting documentation, as requested by auditors, and address auditor queries as they arise during the audit.
- Assist in preparation and filing of the annual tax return IRS Form 990.
- Maintain the functional expenses allocation model and prepare quarterly expenses allocations.
- Prepare the annual valuation of donated services.
- Prepare drafts of various board and committee papers.
- Prepare sections of the Annual Report of the Trustees and Annual Financial Statements, including coordinating the timely receipt of required input information from the World Bank.
- Review new UK GAAP accounting guidance and implement necessary financial reporting updates.
- Prepare audit schedules and compile audit supporting documentation, as requested by auditors, and address auditor queries as they arise during the audit.
- Prepare annual filings with Companies House, UK Charity Commission, and HMRC.
- Review quarterly reporting packages prepared by the World Bank.
- Prepare first drafts of various board and committee papers.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Bachelor degree in accounting, finance, or a similar field.
- CPA or equivalent professional certification.
- Minimum 5 years of related financial experience, preferably in a US GAAP environment.
- Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics AX or a brand-name ERP is considered an asset.
- Written and spoken fluency in English.
- Working knowledge of French is considered an asset.
