International Justice Mission (IJM) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Director of Human Resources Operations in Washington DC, United States.
IJM’s mission is to secure justice for victims of violent oppression depending on cutting-edge tactics in the field, which are made possible through the partnership and financial support of an engaged network.
Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Director of Human Resources Operations will perform the following functions-
- Assess, develop, recommend and execute the strategy and structure for effective global Human Resources operations.
- Identify, train and advise a capable Human Resources Professional in each field office to serve as the leader for Human Resources in the field office.
- Work with Vice Presidents of Regional Operations and Field Office Directors to understand the areas of greatest HR needs in the field offices, and develop a plan and resources to support these needs.
- Provide ongoing training and support to field office leaders and staff on HR management.
- Identify areas of need and drive the plan for full global compliance.
- Ensure a plan exists in each field office to achieve full compliance with local employment laws; support and monitor plans as necessary.
- Ensure field office HR systems, including manuals, policies and procedures, are developed, continuously monitored and updated and are compliant with local laws, HQ standards and HR best practices.
- Serve as HR lead for all field office employee relations and performance management as well as certain employee development matters such as reviewing promotion requests.
- Assess and lead process for ensuring proper HR set up in new field offices, including assisting the office in drafting an employee manual, engaging effective labor law attorneys, and recommending HR structure.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Bachelor’s degree with formal training in human resources or organizational development.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an HR generalist role with an additional minimum of 2 years leading an HR team.
- Extensive knowledge of US labor laws and familiarity with international labor law and expatriate and local national employment. Experience in an NGO setting, especially in an international development organization or related field, preferred. GPHR certification required within nine months of hire.
- Ability to exercise sound and timely judgment and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Experience training a multicultural team through in person and online delivery methods.
- Proven ability to identify and independently solve complex problems through the implementation of systems based on industry best practices.
