International Telecommunication Union (ITU) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Junior Programme Officer in Geneva, Switzerland. The duration of this post is 9 months.

Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Junior Programme Officer will perform the following functions-
- Maintain and expand relationships with existing clients; establish a list of focal points for administrations and entities in assigned region(s) and engage with them to encourage event participation; identify and exploit new sales opportunities with existing and potential clients.
- Organize meetings and presentations with potential clients to creatively promote and encourage their presence at ITU Telecom events.
- Maintain client information and awareness (decision-making structures and processes, products and services, client news); manage client relation systems; update and monitor account records regularly.
- Provide ongoing support to clients as they advance through the sales process; determine potential problem areas; make solutions-oriented suggestions and resolve issues; follow-up as necessary for client satisfaction.
- Check, acknowledge and process contracts for event participation, and ensure necessary internal liaison with Financial Resources Management Department (FRMD) and Legal Affairs Unit (LAU).
- Draft texts and prepare graphics for reports, presentations, manuals and other documents; prepare periodic sales forecasts for forward planning; analyze and make suggestions for improved effectiveness & efficiency.
- Collaborate with colleagues from different teams for the enhancement and upkeep of various internal systems, databases, applications, promotional materials, etc.
- Coordinate specific team activities as assigned, such as the event floor plan, sales agents, CRM, the young innovators competition, event award, etc.
- Complete administrative work as required, such as preparing briefing reports; coordinate meetings; work plans, data entry, etc.
- Perform any other additional duties as that may be required to ensure the success of the team work.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- University degree in international relations, business administration, event management or a related field OR education in a reputed college of advanced education, with a diploma of equivalent standard to that of a university degree in one of the fields above.
- Higher university degrees in related fields can be considered as a substitute for one year of working experience.
- At least one year of experience in the field of the post.
- Knowledge of one of the six official languages of the Union (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, Spanish) at advanced level and knowledge of a second official language at intermediate level.
- Knowledge of a third official language would be an advantage.
