Save the Children is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Advocacy Manager in Turkey. The duration of this post is 12 months.

Key Job Responsibilities
The Advocacy Manager will perform the following functions-
- Responsible for managing advocacy initiatives, building general consensus within the Country Office, Save the Children Region, and SC’s Humanitarian Advocacy WG on a strategic approach to advocacy on behalf of Syrian children that is also in concert with advocacy positions of the larger humanitarian community.
- Lead on formulating the strategic approach and then implementing it both through their efforts but also through harnessing resources of others within the Country Office and larger community.
- Work very closely in coordination with the Turkey Programme Team, housed in the Save the Children/Syria Country Office and in particular with the Communications Coordinator.
- Ensure that key advocacy messages reflect programmatic priorities, and will seek clarification on any politically sensitive matters which may impact upon the response operations.
- Play a representational role in support of the Country Director, and should expect to represent Save the Children in external meetings with the UN, donors and other stakeholders, as well as the media as appropriate.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Development professional with a relevant Masters’ Degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum four year’s experience with demonstrable outputs and impact working in advocacy within the humanitarian sphere.
- Experience of influencing and advocacy work including lobbying, policy development and information provision in humanitarian issues.
- Experience of and strong skills in developing and implementing humanitarian advocacy strategies.
- Excellent coordination and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and negotiate clearly and effectively at all levels, and pull together input from a diverse team.
- Excellent writing/editing and presentation/communication skills.
- Proven representation skills.
- Ability and willingness to dramatically change work practices and hours, and work with incoming surge teams, in the event of emergencies.
- Superb command of English, both verbal and written, required.
- Commitment to Save the Children values, including willingness to abide by and enforce the Child Safeguarding policy.
- Language skills in Arabic and/or Turkish.
