BBC World News Service Ltd. is running a global competition to identify the most innovative and enterprising grassroots-projects or small businesses. The projects that have an element of social entrepreneurship, use technology in an innovative manner, increase investment in the local community and are responsible towards the environment are eligible to participate in this competition. Only nominations are invited in this competition. The projects should come under one of the categories community welfare and enterprise, heath and education, sustainable farming, energy, environment and water. Winners of this competition will receive grants from the BBC World News up to US $15,000 and $10,000. They will be invited to an award ceremony at The Hague in The Netherlands to receive the grants. The grants can be used by the winners to furthering the cause of their projects. Selection of the winners will be done through a voting process as well as through a panel of jury.
