Nonprofits working with people who are over 50 years old have an opportunity to participate in the MetLife Foundation/Civic Ventures Encore Opportunity Awards that are given to recognize the efforts done for people over the age of 50 years. The work should demonstrate innovation in terms of extending various forms of support to such people. It could include, for example, nonprofits that provide interesting, useful and flexible work for these people on part-time basis as part of a focused strategy. Only organizations in the United States are eligible to apply for this award opportunity. Only nominations can be made for awards and these can be done through the online form available over the internet. The last date for submission of nominations is 1 June 2009. More information is available at this link.
