The SAMRO Foundation and The British Council is pleased to offer funding opportunity to professional musicians and music industry professionals in South Africa. The purpose of this funding is to build links with artists, organizations and/or music professionals in neighboring SADC countries and the UK. The programme is designed to support musicians and music professionals with an established practice in South Africa, but who have carried out little or no work internationally.
Objectives-
- support professional relationship building between the music sectors across SADC and the UK
- encourage the mobility of South African music and musicians
- develop artistic and professional capacity
- support ongoing creativity and innovation in South African music through new experiences.
Documents required-
- Legal documentation of the applicant: ID/Passport copy for individuals and organisation representatives; deed of incorporation for organization.
- Letter from applicants international host confirming their support for their visit.
- Evidence that applicants are a musician or music professional (such as press coverage, website links, evidence of prizes, public appearances or residencies, CV, etc.).
- Budget (income and expenditure of the project).
Eligibility & Criteria-
- be established in South Africa
- be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the project, not acting as an intermediary.
- Grants for individuals are available to: musicians, managers, promoters, producers, agents,groups (one member willneed to take the lead and have the main responsibility for managing the application andany grant).All people participating in the project must be over 18 years old
- Grants for organizations are available to: music organisations and businesses (both for profit and non-profit), record labels, agencies, forums, associations, partnerships, local, regional and national organisations,groups of organizations (one will need to take the lead and have the main responsibility formanaging the application and any grant).
