The Department of Peace and Conflict Research at Uppsala University and SIDA, together with its organizing partners, invites candidates for their program on Peace and Security in Africa.
The purpose of the programme is to increase the capacity of regional organizations in Sub-Saharan African to prevent, manage and resolve armed conflicts on the continent. This programme will be held in Uppsala Sweden and South Africa in the months of May 2015 and November 2015.
Course Highlights
- Develop increased knowledge on issues relating to peace and security in Sub-Saharan Africa.
- Develop increased knowledge of practical methods and tools for improving and strengthening the work for peace and security in the region.
- Build capacity and competences to analyze the role of the own organization in the regional and national work for peace and security.
- Develop increased knowledge about African regional cooperation in the area of peace and security.
- Strengthening regional networks between organizations working on peace and security.
Eligibility criteria
- Individuals working at African inter-governmental or non-governmental regional organizations.
- Master’s degree or equivalent and professional experience in the field of peace and security.
- Women are encouraged to apply.
How to Apply?
- Fill in the attached application form which can be downloaded on the SIDA Website.
- Write a Concept note of 1-3 pages stating the project analysis and introduction of the organization.
- Submit the application form and concept note to the Swedish Embassy in the applicant’s country or send it via email.
