The BMCE Bank of Africa is currently accepting applications from African citizens of minimum 18 years of age for African Entreprenuership Award 2015. The award seeks to enable you the entrepreneur to be a job enabler in Africa. Through their regional and global mentoring program, participants will receive coaching that enables them to launch or grow their business idea so that they can create jobs – enable others – in Africa.
Reaching across the African continent, BMCE Bank of Africa seeks to promote young entrepreneurs and their small businesses that create jobs and improve lives. Early mentoring will be provided to the participating entrepreneurs.
Focus Areas
- Education – positively impact education in Africa
- Environment – positively impact the environment in Africa
- Uncharted – a high-impact business venturing into unexplored territory or untested markets
Award Rounds
The AEA is based on a four round system. The first round of finalists will be announced at the Global Entrepreneurship Summit in Kenya in July 2015. Round One ideas are scored on their ability to meet a need in the region. Round Two, their ability to succeed beyond the borders of their region, Round Three, their sustainable impact and Round Four, their ability to be successful.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant can be a resident of any country worldwide but must be a citizen of an African country.
- Applicant must be a minimum of 18 years old as of October 1, 2015
- Applicant’s business must be applicable in an African country
- Applicant’s business must be relevant to one of the categories mentioned above.
How to Apply?
Interested applicants can submit their innovative business idea by first registering on the website and then filling the online application form. The winners will be announced in October, 2015.
