The Natural Resource Governance Institute is calling applications for this year’s training program from African journalists interested in improving their knowledge of and skills in covering the extractive sectors of oil, gas and minerals.
The program offers a wide range of benefits: holistic and comprehensive support to journalists through specialized knowledge and skills modules; professional mentoring; experiential learning; reporting grants; prizes for outstanding reporting; access to sources and vital information and data; as well as interaction with peers, experts, policy makers, and oversight actors.
The Natural Resource Governance Institute (NRGI) helps people to realize the benefits of their countries’ endowments of oil, gas and minerals.
Eligibility Information
- The call for applications is intended for early- to mid-career journalists working with media organizations in Ghana, Tanzania, and Uganda.
- Applications are invited from practitioners who work for media organizations based in Ghana, Tanzania and Uganda.

As this is a competitive process, priority will be given to reporters submitting the strongest applications, by providing the information requested in the application form. Applicants are required to fill an online application form.
