Hands up for HER Campaign has launched a competition for which the theme is ‘Wall of Change’ Competition which will take place in Lagos, Nigeria on the 10th October 2013. The goal of this program is to focus on providing a platform through which young girls can access the resources, be empowered and given the opportunity to grow to become useful members of the society who will participate in the growth and development of their communities and nation.
The vision of this campaign is to create the recognition and respect for the girl child that ensures that she is protected from harm (physical, psychological, emotional and sexual), and is supported to have a dream and achieve it.
Individuals or groups with great projects/initiatives will have the opportunity to have their projects hosted on our website and on our ‘wall of change’ on the day of the event.
The Hands up for HER campaign aims to-
- Reach 100,000 girls across Africa with information on sexual and reproductive health
- Empower 10,000 girls across Africa with life and vocational skills
- Reach 1,000,000 girls across Africa with information on their rights.
Eligibility & Criteria-
- Initiator(s) must be an individual/individuals below the age of 35
- Project/initiative must address a health, empowerment/education or rights challenge for young girls in Africa
- Project/initiative must be on going
- Beneficiaries of the project must be young girls below 24years
- Initiator(s) must be African
