The Efico Foundation works for improving quality of life for coffee and/or cocoa producers in developing countries. Since 2012, the Efico Foundation works in 2 different steps:
- Pre-selection: candidates have to submit a concept note that can be downloaded from this page (documents).
- Selection: The preselected candidates must complete the online application form, available via the link and send it back to the King Baudouin Foundation before the 25th October
For candidates who have already started or finished filling out their applications in 2012, the files will not be kept for this call. The Efico Fund asks them to also submit the “concept note” before August 31st and to keep a copy of their application files as it can be used to fill out the second stage application if they are pre-selected.
- These projects will contribute, directly or indirectly, to improving the situation of poor populations who produce coffee and/or cocoa in developing countries. Improvements made will be structural and sustainable. They can also involve humanitarian aid and rehabilitation for the benefit of poor people in these countries
- List of priority countries and countries where the Efico Foundation is already active:
Belize, Burundi, Brazil, Bolivia, Colombia, Ivory Coast, Dominican Republic, DR Congo, El Salvador, Ecuador, Ethiopia, Ghana, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Peru, Rwanda, Togo
Projects can be funded for one or several years (3 years max.) to a maximum of €20,000 per year. The jury may grant an exception if, in reading the application file, they deem it justified. The results of the 2012 call will be announced in February 2013.
