The Inter-American Development Bank accepts grant proposals from organizations and individuals who are implementing activities or research studies on agriculture topics, throughout the year.
Types of Grants
Activity grants – It includes financing up to €100,000 for implementation of activities related to New Financial Instruments for Agriculture topics that incorporate impact evaluation methods and generate lessons learned.
Research grants – It includes financing up to €20,000 to carry out research studies related to New Financial Instruments for Agriculture topics: impact evaluations, comparative studies, and other empirical work that leads to lessons learned and policy recommendations.
Eligibility Criteria
- An individual or an organization is eligible to apply.
- An individual or an organization can submit more than one application to either category.
How to Apply
Step 1: Applicant has to download the template for activity grants/research grants, fill it and convert to PDF form.
Step 2: Applicant has to register in the MAP Account and submit the proposal.
Template for Activity and Research Grants contains
- Basic Project Information – Country (or Countries) or State, name of the project, firm or consultant basic information, and amount
- Description of the Project – General objectives, describe the relationship of the project to ongoing activities, describe how the project’s results will be measured, describe the capacity to implement the project and any other necessary elements that justify the need for this activity
- Project Components – Describe briefly project components, description of the objectives of each component, expected time per component, deliverables and products
- Budget – From the components described in the previous section, estimate costs including counterpart contribution, in funds or services. Contingencies cannot exceed 5% of the total funds requested to IDB. The final budget will be agreed with the IDB and it will be denominated in Euros. The IDB will also recommend consultants, individual or firms, to carry out the work. In some cases, preference will be given to consultants and firms of Spanish Nationality.
