Soliya, an international non-profit organization with offices in New York and Cairo, with the purpose of exposing people to alternative perspectives and catalyzing constructive exchanges within and between the societies using social media platforms, is offering Terana fellowship to ninety candidates from around the world.
Terana community comprises of young adults from around the world who are committed to promoting cross-cultural empathy and understanding between and within their societies. Leveraging the latest in online media and communication tools, Terana will offer participants training from leading experts and a customized suite of technologies to constructively communicate and collaborate. Using those tools, participants will be empowered to express their perspectives on divisive issues by producing their own media content and engage in constructive dialogue with their peers about those issues.
Participants will represent the full-spectrum of political, religious, ethnic and socioeconomic diversity, but share a fundamental belief that our differences can and should be addressed with respect for our common human dignity.
The Terana fellowship is a unique opportunity to gain the necessary skills in media, facilitation and community engagement as well as to connect to other individuals and organizations that are working towards common goals.
Terana is a partner with the United Nations’ Alliance of Civilizations, AlJazeera, Georgetown University as well as several professionals in the fields of media and conflict resolution.
Terana seeks active, skilful young leaders from the West and predominantly Muslim societies who wish to engage in a unique and interactive fellowship experience. Special consideration is given to individuals from the Middle East and North Africa region affiliated with NGOs. Qualifying NGOs will receive funding to improve their tech infrastructure and harness the full power of digital media. All fellows will receive a digital production kit that includes an HD video camera and related accessories.
