We are a team of young social activists from different streams and professions. Ahivyakti started in the year 1998 for social cultural activities and was formally registered as a Trust, under Indian Trust Act, 1882 in the year 2002.
Our Mission
To aware people and mobilize self initiatives based on local available resources for sustainable development and right balance over generations.
Geographical Area:
Abhivyakti is working in Giridih, Koderma, Chatra and Deoghar districts of Jharkhand with some urban locations in Giridh.
The extensive activities of the organization under Capacity building work is spread across the state of Jharkhand.

Participatory Learning and Action
Abhivyakti builds up the capacity of local to encourage self help initiatives.As a local partner and facilitating agency Abhivyakti has worked with District and Technical support agencies in planning of Backward Region’s Grant Fund in Giridih, Koderma and Dumka districts of Jharkhand, Microplanning for various line departments eg. Forest, Education and Health and other community based micro plans and GIS mapping in Giridih and Santhal Pargana region.
Development Communication
Abhivyakti thrugh its specialized group – Abhivyakti Artists’ Associatoni for Generation (AAAG) has produced effective IEC materials for neoliterates.
AAAG has been involved with different stakeholders including local health department, Youth, schools, CSOs and media and developed interesting resource materials eg tele-films, documentaries, manuals, power point presentations, posters and street plays.
Youth Volunteerism
Involvement of local youth, in development activities helps the society and builds up sense of responsibility among them. With two or three days commitment in a month the youth have also acquired various skills and counseling/ emotional support to help them grow as responsible citizens.
Abhivyakti organizes special events, study and research work, facilitating CBO meetings, focus group discussions on local relevant issues and short vocational courses to help the youth.
Leadership development workshop and participatory projects with the youth have been one of regular activities of the organization.
Community Health
Abhivyakti has oganized local health camps to iprove access of pregnant women to antenatal care, tetanus shots and Iron Folic supplements; Community based monitoring of growth, immunization, Vitamin A supplement to children and deworming medicines with support of local health authorities and village level service providers, ANM and local schools.
The organization has also actively collaborated with local health department in Malaria and TB control.
Art & Culture
To promote art and culture activities and revive the traditions Abhivyakti facilitates and organize events including Book Fair-cum-Cultural Festivals, seminar/ symposia and other likewise activities with support of local community.
Capacity Building
The capacity building approach of Abhivyakti is based on twofold strategy –
enabling the capabilities of its core group and volunteers by collaborating with different resource agencies and skill development training/ workshops;
and, providing skills, information and knowledge to local community based organizations, NGOs, youth and interested persons through Abhivyakti Resource Centre.
The Resource Centre has also started Job placements and internship placements for educated Youth and volunteers associated with us.
Environment & Livelihood
Natural Resources are most important livelihood sources for the people of Jhakrhand. Abhivyakti initiatives have been to understand the NRM & sustainable livelihood interrelations through study, research & documentation and promote collaborative management among institutions.
