The African Union has invited applications from qualified and deserving candidates from the citizens of Member States for the job/vacancy of Human Resources Officer, Consultants and Support Organs. Location of this job will be based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Major duties and responsibilities
- Assist Senior HR Officer in drafting and defining approaches, policies, procedures, guidelines and formats used in short listing,interviewing and selection of Consultants and staff of support organs.
- Work closely with project teams and support organs to understand needs and recruit to fulfill needs.
- Maintain datas of consultants who were and are in service to the AUC and projects.
- Prepare, follow and track work plans to meet functional objectives.
- Work with administrative support to ensure timely correspondence and support arrivals of successful candidates.
- Prepare vacancy announcements as per prescribed formats and coordinate posts.
- Review Cvs, coordinate short listing and interviews,and participate on interview panels.
- Prepare and coordinate job offers.
- Work with administrative support to ensure timelycorrespondence and support arrivals of successful candidates.
- Coordinates arrival and onboarding activites.
- Other duties as applicable.
Qualifications
- University degree in human resources management, business or public administration, social science or related field. Advanced degree preferred. Certifications such as Professional in Human Resources preferred.
Work experience
- Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in human resources management, recruiting or related area in a competitive environment.
Language Requirement
- Proficiency in one of the African Union working languages (Arabic, English, French and Portuguese) is required. Knowledge of one or more of the other AU working languages would be an added advantage.
Age
- Candidates must preferably be aged between 25 and 35 years.
Tenure of appointment
- The appointment will be made on a fixedterm contract for a period of three (3) years, of which the first twelve monthswill be considered as a probationary period. Thereafter, the contract will befor a period of two years renewable, subject to satisfactory performance.
Remuneration
- Indicative basic salary of US$27,892.00 per annum plus otherrelated entitlements e.g. Post adjustment (46% of basic salary), Housingallowance ($14, 414.40 per annum), education allowance (75% of tuition andother education related expenses for every eligible dependent up to a maximumof US$7,800.00 per child per annum), etc for internationally recruited staff ofthe Commission.
