Introduction
Association for a Better Society (ASBESOC) – Nigeria is a Non-governmental, Non-political and Non- profit organization founded in the third quarter of the year 1999 by Igwe Chibuike Elias Elijah. The name was chosen after close study of the increasingly rate of societal ills in the society. To proffer solution to start curbing them as a group and to achieving a better society the above name was born. ASBESOC-Nigeria got her head Office at 11/17 Ogui Road, fist floor, Enugu, Enugu State within the 3rd quarter of year 2001.
This body was registered after series of screening by the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) as corporate body with RC: 22526
Vision
To build a crime / corrupt free society, and to assure safe and secured environment for all.
Mission
To develop a sustainable structure capable of curbing most societal ills in society and building a positive behavioral change amongst the people
Objectives
1. To protect the rights of the people, especially in the grass root level with the help of collaborative efforts of the people
2. To curb crime through a network building and information dissemination
3. To reduce poverty through wealth creation, capacity building etc
4. To help create a conducive environment for all and sundry through peace building and secured environment
Membership
ASBESOC-Nigeria membership is meant for all irrespective of sex, religion, race, tribe, and class. It is for those that have the passion of seeing good things happening in the society. But critically on merit for the unquestionable character individuals, who can contribute positively to the reformation and building a better society for all. The process of the membership starts from purchasing and completion of the application form and passing through a screening, which ought to be conducted by the Executive Officers of ASBESOC-Nigeria.
The Membership of this noble body is categorized according to ones contributions towards building a better society. It starts from Platinum, Diamond, Gold, Silver, Bronze, Brass bearers to ordinary members of the organization, this is for an effective operations, attainment of ASBESOC objectives/goals and sustainability. Today ASBESOC-Nigeria has over four hundred (400) members around the States of Nigeria.
